Can Protein Help You Shed Weight Quickly?

Try eating more protein to shed weight quickly. Your metabolic rate will increase when you eat more proteins and you will burn calories faster. So, the commercials may be more than advertising; Eat More Chicken!

When you eat protein, your metabolism can be increased by as much as 30%! When your rate is high, you are burning more calories. Protein has the highest thermic effect on food, which means it uses more energy to digest and absorb.

Celery and grapefruit are thought to have a negative calorie count. It takes more energy to digest them than the calories they have. That is one reason the grapefruit plan was so widely discussed!

If you consume 100 calories of high protein foods like chicken breasts or salmon,on about 70 calories are left after digesting. By eating the right amounts of high protein foods at the right times of day, you will start to shed that unwanted weight quickly.

Proteins have different rates of absorption, just like carbohydrates. Egg whites will metabolize faster than red meat. By focusing on the proteins that meatbolize quickly, you will see results much quicker. Such proteins include, chicken, fish and eggs. By eating these high in protein foods, you should start to see the results you want.

Before you start any kind of weight loss or diet plan, be sure to consult with your family doctor. This way you will be sure that you are doing what needs to be done and not doing anything harmful to you.

Research has consistently highlighted that if we can increase our activity levels throughout the day there will be no need to become a slave to the gym.

Make walking a little more of a priority; it’s amazing what you can achieve once you focus. Take a few minutes to focus on how you can realistically add some extra walking or activities into your day.

Start thinking through your week or at the least plan for the day ahead, especially if you know you are particularly busy – plan your exercise – it becomes much easier to fit in.

WALKING TECHNIQUE

Shoulders relaxed, gently pulled back and down to reduce any tension.

Chest lifted and open, think about projecting the chest forward as you walk.

Abdominals should be gently contracted.

Buttocks should have a slight tension.

Foot action – use a heel-toe foot strike with a slight lean forward.

Find a stride that is comfortable and check you are planting your feet down quickly and lightly.

Focus on moving forward swinging your arms and holding in your abdominals.

Keep your body erect – no slouching, hands loose and shoulders relaxed.

Walk uphill whenever possible for greater calorie expenditure.

Breathe naturally, concentrate on deep slow breaths, and remember short fast breathing is likely to give you stitch or cramp.

STRETCHING

It lessens the risk of injury by increasing the range of motion.

It reduces any muscle soreness if you are walking cross-country or race walking by improving circulation and flushing out metabolic waste.

It increases flexibility.

HOW TO INCREASE CALORIE EXPENDITURE

For maximum results walk at a rate than has you breaking into a light sweat, as you pick up the pace make it more strenuous by using your arms to get you moving, and remember it ‘s more efficient to move your legs at a faster rate than to lengthen your stride.

Adding hills and slopes will dramatically increase intensity by as much as 20%. Energy expenditure can increase from 300 calories per hour for a 150 pound person walking at 3.5 miles per hour on flat ground to 400 cals per hour on a gentle 4% incline and 500 cals per hour on a 10% incline.

TOP TIPS

Start gradually
Doing too much too soon will mean your initial enthusiasm will all too soon wear off, plan to moderately increase you steps daily if possible by around 200 – 500 per day for realistic and continuous results.

Vary your pace
Add some variety, use your Fitbug to note the most efficient routes to take, time etc. Try to walk on hilly surfaces as well as flat.

Take care on hills
Keep our body straight don’t lean back when going downhill and use your arms to really help power you along and burn some extra calories.

Remember
To take some water with you; it will give you energy to keep going, and to help you Fitbug is available at discounted price via Body Sculpt

We all know to use sun-screen and to cover up when outside under the sun during these hot summer months. Now, a new supplement may provide additional benefits for the more than 10% of us suffer from sun sensitivities.

The supplement is called GliSODin®. It’s an all-natural dietary product that revolutionizes the way your body produces and utilizes antioxidants.

UV radiation from the sun is known to induce photoaging and cause direct damage to cellular DNA, and promote the photosensitized generation of oxidative stress.

GliSODin® has been shown in clinical research to help protect cellular DNA and promote skin health against photo-oxidative stress.

A recent randomized double-blind study with 50 participants was presented at the Annual Congress of Dermatological Research (CARD) in Europe. In this study, GliSODin supplementation resulted in an increase in the minimum exposure to UV rays necessary to produce skin redness, particularly for fair-skinned individuals, paired with a faster recovery. These benefits were not found in the placebo group.

According to Professor Philippe Humbert, M.D., the lead researcher, “This study confirms the effectiveness of GliSODin in the prevention of the consequences of oxidative stress resulting from exposure to the sun. This efficacy is of particular interest for phototypes II (fair-skinned) that represent a major part of the consultations in dermatology.”

In recent years, the media has abounded with stories about the health benefits of eating foods rich in antioxidants and including antioxidant supplements as a part of health regimens. But, until now, antioxidants have only been cast in a supporting or external role. External antioxidants are important, but can be quickly overwhelmed.

GliSODin® takes an entirely new internal approach. It is the only supplement that catalyzes production of the most potent of antioxidants—those produced by the body itself.

Simply put, GliSODin® stimulates the body’s own built-in defense system. GliSODin® acts as a catalyst, stimulating the body’s production of its own antioxidants, the most powerful of which is known as SOD (Superoxide Dismutase). Often referred to as the “powerhouse antioxidant,” SOD is the body’s primary weapon against oxidative stress (oxidative stress is the medical term for stress on the body, damaging cellular health, which is caused by free radicals which are inadequately neutralized. Oxidative stress is, ultimately, what leads to the normal processes of aging, fatigue and health concerns).

GliSODin® has been clinically proven to help the body:

• Support skin health against photo-oxidative stress caused by UV radiation

• Promote healthy immune function

• Reduce lactic acid build-up in humans under physical stress and promote recovery

• Help combat the effects of oxidative stress, helping maintain healthy cells

GliSODin is now available online at Body Sculpt

The key to health and wellness involves more than exercise or a change in eating habits. The role your mind plays is an often overlooked component in your body’s ability to heal or for making changes to your lifestyle. The ability to clear ones mind of any negative thoughts and make way for positive changes is key. The mind to body connection plays a crucial role in our overall wellness. The human mind is a powerful tool for how we view and influence our inner and outer self.

The decision to make improvements in lifestyle; starts with the willpower to follow through with decisions for change. Quitting smoking, reducing alcohol intake, exercise and healthy eating habits are all extremely beneficial to health, but these things do not simply begin to happen. We have to condition our minds into believing that the changes will be beneficial.

When an individual is overweight or has a serious illness, the physical symptoms can often have a debilitating effect on the mind. The physical ailments begin to gradually influence the mental ailments, which can lead to depression, poor mood, and low self esteem. This can often make the current symptoms worse or introduce new ones. We can, however, use the minds power for improving body awareness. When the mental thoughts are positive and energetic, the physical actions will follow suit.

If the mind promotes a positive emotional well being, the results are going to have a powerful influence on all remaining areas of the body. Anxiety plays a major role in the way our emotions handle physical set backs or illness. There are reported cases where an anxiety attack has been so severe that the symptoms led the individual into believing they were having a heart attack. These types of symptoms are the minds interpretation of being out of sync with the body and the more we think about what is happening, the worse it becomes. There are simple ways to overcome the battle between mind and body to get them working together for a healthier physical and mental lifestyle.

Since the mind is the command center for the actions of the body, learning to developing a positive mind set is important. There are several things that can be done for this starting with exercise itself. Research has shown exercise to be a natural antidepressant due to the increased activity in areas of the brain known as the hippocampus and frontal lobes. These areas release neurotransmitters and/or endorphins that are responsible for elating mood. Exercising in a productive, non exertive manner and on a regular basis will begin to improve a person’s mood and increase happiness which results in a positive outlook on your self. Exercise is also great for relieving stress and at the same time it will help to improve your physical appearance. Improving body awareness includes the way an individual feels about their physical appearance, when you feel attractive; you will be attractive and healthier which will increase the minds positive thoughts.

Making changes for improving your overall health and wellness should begin with slow easy to accept processes. Rushing the process will only cause frustration because when results are not immediate, it is easy to give up. Start slow by gradually changing eating habits and drinking plenty of water. If you smoke, quitting will be difficult but possible and will make a dramatic difference in the way you look and feel. Everyday tell yourself one positive thing about you and surround your daily activities with positive thoughts. Begin an exercise routine that is comfortable for you and your schedule, and then increase the routine when your mind and body are ready. A healthier mind and body takes continuous work but, it is important to focus on the daily goals and work up to the long term goals. Going at an even pace will be beneficial for helping the body and the mind to convince each other to work together.

Did you know, water can be used to detox your body naturally? One of the most important things in out life is to have enough liquids. The most important liquid on earth is water. It helps to flush our system and also hydrate our body which we detox by sweating, this helps to keep your pores clean.

Water also helps with our bodily functions and makes everything work right including your immune system. A clean system will help you stay healthy and also to digest your food, nutrients as well as the vitamins that you put in your body.

Now it is important that you drink pure water. The regular public water today has over five hundred chemicals in it to bring it into our home. Unfortunately these chemicals have a negative effect on the body and so it is very important to drink pure water.

Either get your home a water purifier systems, drink spring water or distilled water which is very good for detoxification. Your body is made up of over seventy five percent water, proper hydration is essential for optimum health.

In the body water facilitates the exchange of healthy nutrients in and out of your body cells, helps with blood circulation, assists with digestion, aides the absorption of your food and helps with elimination of toxins from your body.

How much water should you drink? Well how you determine the amount of water to drink is to take your weight in pounds and divide it in two that is the amount of ounces you should drink. So if you weigh two hundred pounds you need to drink one hundred ounces of water.

These days, people are spending more and more time in front of their computer. The vast majority of people spend their entire work day sitting at their desk and only move when they go to lunch or get a paper from the printer. All this sitting eventually causes your lower back to become stiff and sometimes painful.

The Advantages of Standing
You can force your body to do more work by using a standing desk. In this way, you are less prone to having a bad posture as long as you do not lean on the desk for support. Also, it is much easier to go for a quick walk, stretch your legs or simply get some motion going in those hips. This will get more blood flowing in your muscles and will keep you alert for longer.

An Adjustable Desk
Even better than a standing desk is a desk which you can adjust between standing and sitting. This allows you to change your working position several times a day. This is good since your legs might not be used to standing for long periods. If your legs get tired, simply adjust your desk to the sitting position and give your feet a rest. Varying your position several times a day might get your colleagues looking but it is worth it when they complain about their sore backs later in the day.

Conclusion
Basically, the human body was not meant to sit all day. Therefore, any reason you can find to move your body during the day helps. Standing rather than sitting is one thing that has worked for me and I really recommend that you try it.

To supply all your energy needed you have to eat a lot of carbohydrate, this is the most important form of fuel for exercise and sports activities. The math is simple, the more active you become the more carbohydrates your body needs. Our body can store carbs in the liver and muscle but these storehouses are small so it is important that you keep them topped up. If you get tired during a recreation or sports, it is an indication that your body is low in stored carbohydrates.

Good source of carbohydrates are starchy foods such as breads, pasta, potatoes, pulses, rice and breakfast cereals. Fruits and milk also provide energy in the form of sugars. Both carbs and sugar are broken down in the body to provide readily available energy.

Here are my lists of carbohydrate rich foods that you can include in your meals or as snacks before and after you exercise:

Cereal bars
Dried fruits
Fruit juices
Malt loaf
Bananas, jacket potatoes
Pasta, rice and noodles
Bread
Bagels

According to experts, the best time to do your exercise is to wait an hour after a snack or light meal. If it is a large meal, it will be best to wait a little bit longer. This gives our body the time to digest the food thoroughly to avoid uncomfortable feeling while doing exercise.

30 to 60 minutes beforehand is the recommended time allowance for snack if you are preparing for an intense exercise, such as sports competitions. The best types of food to take in are snacks and drinks because they contain sugar that is useful, and it is less bulky to the stomach.

Food is also important for recovery from exercise and sports. After workout, you can eat protein rich foods to repair your damage cells. Remember that food when eaten with moderation and right purpose; it can function as our number one weapon in maintaining our well being and health. Live life and live it well!

Have you ever felt that the whole body aches, very tired, very drained? That is the body telling you that you need to drain out the toxin – detox the body!

Detoxification basically means blood cleansing through eliminating impurities from the blood in the liver, through kidneys, lungs, intestines, lymph and skin.

Taking your first step:
Try to cut down on the following: cigarettes, alcohol, coffee, eating foods with saturated fats and refined sugars – these acts as toxins in your body and as a hindrance to your healing development.

There are many ways to detox the body. It’s up to you to choose which suits your lifestyle and preference.

• Juice fasting – Drinking only fresh fruits and vegetables such as carrot, spinach, celery, cabbage, apple, pineapple and cranberry (avoid citrus fruits). An effective way of discharging toxins, it also provides loads of nutrients as well as enzymes to lessen the intensity of the cleansing process to an easy stage.

Fast weight loss is the main benefit from juice fasting. A person may drop 30-40 lbs on a 30-day juice fast. By juice fasting, a person gains self-confidence and feels light and clean.

Duration of juice fasting is usually 1-3 days. Medical administration and careful assessment is required for longer fasting.

• Water fasting – Only water is consumed during a water fast. Water lets the digestive tract and organs to rest completely, allowing all of your energy to self-repair and strengthen damaged organs. It also eliminates toxin build-ups. Water fasting not only eliminates obstruction and aids in self-healing, it is also revitalizing and motivating to make a fresh start.

• Gentler way to detox the body – Here are gentler and safer ways to detox your body that you can try out or incorporate different methods as part your routine.

1.Change in diet – Whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables instead of packaged and fast foods that are high on fats and sugar can become part of your daily lifestyle in maintaining good health.

2.Sauna - The sauna is widely used by many cultures as a regular part of detox. It is a great method of removing chemicals buildups in fat cells. Saunas are usually combined with diet, exercise and nutritional supplements.

3.Skin brushing – Again, with the combination of diet, exercise and nutritional supplements, skin brushing is also a gentle way of detoxing. It removes old skin cells, stimulates the lymph system and draws out toxins through the skin. A dry skin brush made of soft vegetable bristles should be used.
Before taking a shower, lightly brush your feet in circular motion towards the chest area for a minute or two.

4.Yoga - Through breathing exercise, the bloodstream thoroughly oxygenates thus giving energy and improves the body’s physical process. Different positions lightly massage the internal organs and stimulate them to slowly discharge toxins.

The above are all natural, it should be good for your body. Pick the right one for you and just start.
